Introducing CHES For All

Community, Health Education and Support For All (CHES4All) is a 501c3 nonprofit organization with a simple mission of keeping families caring for loved ones with physical, intellectual, and developmental disabilities (such as cerebral palsy, spina bifida, autism, etc.) in the community informed about community resources. We are run by volunteer healthcare professionals and family members who understand how difficult it can be to get information and apply for what is needed.

Dr. Leslie Phillips-Williams

Founder and Board Chairperson

CHES4All was founded by Dr. Leslie Phillips-Williams, who is a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner, Assistant Professor, and Doctor of Nursing Practice with 30 years of clinical experience. 18 of those years have been in the Physical Medicine Department at Children’s National, caring for children and young adults. She graduated from the Catholic University of America School – Science in Nursing in 1990; Masters and Doctor of Nursing Practice from the University of Maryland Baltimore in 1996 and 2016 (respectively). Her doctoral work was in the transition of young adults with special healthcare needs from pediatrics to adult care. She noted many families did not have a consistent and reliable way of obtaining information, not only about the transition but regarding community resources. It was from her concerns for the families that CHES4All was born.
